about

An ultra-lofi piece, attempting a "sound collage" effect to underpin vocal melodies loaded with bit-crusher. Lyrically the song recalls happy times working in and around the Wallonian city of Charleroi.

lyrics

I've been so happy - you might never guess if I told you where
more than contentment,
arose, juxtaposed with an air of despair.

Smoke-stained the stigma, from the Cockerill's choking of Charleroi.
Degeneration, so evident from Monsieur Fontaine's Citroen car.

All hail to the sorrow,
That the sombre Sambre knows
All hail to a tomorrow
When the sombre Sambre flows, with a joie de vivre I propose.

Head north to Brussels, for we are to fly the gravy plane
Regeneration - no romantic notion when I return
to rearrange that sad refrain

All hail...
